Theoretical Framework of the Guṇas
A logical model for understanding how Tamas (inertia), Rajas (kinetic energy), and Satva (coherence) combine to shape material experience and systemic alignment.
Systemic Operating Frequencies (The Three Guṇas)
The model operates on three fundamental modes of material nature. These are not personality traits, but observable neuro-physiological frequencies that dictate how cognitive and biological energy flows.
Satva (Coherence)
High neuro-physiological coherence, clarity, and structural truth.
- ■Effortless flow states
- ■Objective reality alignment
- ■Spontaneous accurate decision making
- ■Observation without narrative
Rajas (Kinetic)
Hyper-arousal, constant motion, achievement-drive, and baseline anxiety.
- ■Outcome dependency
- ■Ego-driven validation
- ■Restlessness & hyper-fixation
- ■Intense sensory seeking
Tamas (Inertia)
Systemic drag, low neurological activation, and cognitive density.
- ■Cognitive lethargy & avoidance
- ■Reactive emotional loops
- ■Loss of sensory control
- ■Destructive coping mechanisms
The Integration Model (0–100)
To visualise the interplay of the three Guṇas on a single axis, we apply a heuristic weighting model. This is an educational tool, not a diagnostic absolute.
Weighting Logic
Satva contributes fully (×1.0) because it is structural coherence. Rajas contributes half (×0.5) because kinetic energy is only beneficial when aligned with clarity. Tamas contributes nothing (×0.0) because it is pure systemic drag.
Integration Score = Satva% + (Rajas% × 0.5)
This yields the formula: Score = Satva% + (Rajas% × 0.5). The purpose of this model is purely educational: to help you recognise the relative influence of each Guna in your own experience, so that you may consciously align with higher coherence.
Alignment Variance (Theoretical)
In any system, different areas of life may be dominated by different Guṇas. This creates friction (variance). Recognising these patterns is the first step toward intentional refinement.
Structural Frictions
Domains where inertia or turbulence dominate—indicating unprocessed density, avoidance, or agitation.
Systemic Coherences
Domains where clarity and balance prevail—these can serve as leverage points for elevating the entire system.
By observing where you are naturally clear and where you are stuck, you gain insight into your personal growth edge. This is an invitation to self-inquiry.
The 16 Guna Archetypes
Because the three Guṇas always sum to 100%, your systemic composition can be conceptually mapped onto a ternary field. The 16 archetypes represent common patterns of interplay between the three modes.
Geometric Resolution
The 16 archetypes identify the specific structural gravity of your system—revealing exactly how your energies interact in dynamic tension.
Prescriptive Insight
Each archetype carries a specific directive, providing the exact behavioural intervention required to elevate your baseline.
The 8 Satvic Index Brackets
The Integration Score is divided into 8 developmental bands, each reflecting a general quality of systemic coherence. Use them as a mirror, not a mark.

Each band reflects a possible state of the system.
